Another great tool for eBay sellers are sniping programs. Sniping in its most basic sense allows eBay bidders to at the last second of an eBay auction giving other bidders no time to place a bid manually and win the auction. While you as a seller could sit and put the bid in yourself, this would mean a lot of time sitting at the computer. Much better to use a piece of software like Auction Sentry to do the job for you.

My wife and I have been buying items on eBay for many years and have tried out nearly every eBay sniping tool on the market. By far our favorite is Auction Sentry. This eBay resource is very user friendly and has never failed us. It allows us to win auctions at three in the morning when I hope that no one is awake in the house. When we first used the program we used the free ten day trial and immediately purchased the program and continue to use it successfully to this day.

It does sound handy, but aren’t things like those against the terms of service on eBay? The last thing you need is for someone to find out what you’re doing, and make you pay $4188.23 plus tax for a copy of Guitar Hero.

If it’s allowed by the rules, then sure, I’d use it myself, but I wouldn’t risk my eBay account just to get a little something at 2am.

Interesting piece of software. There have been times when I’ve lost bids at the very last second. But as Aries Wren mentioned, is the software a violation of any terms of service on eBay? I’ll have to do some reading and make sure I’m not breaking any rules before using the software.

Sniping is great, however, the best way to get great deals on eBay is with AuctionStud (http://www.auctionstud.com). It will immediately send you an email when a new item has been listed on eBay that meets your search criteria. If the item has a low-priced BIN, you’ll get it cheap! If there’s no BIN, try negotiating with the seller and it that doesn’t work, snipe away!
